I congratulate you too! Though I don't know you yet but I can tell that I want to be a follower. I happily found you just now via Nicole (whom I found via Karen Gowen). I think we may be close to the same age. I grew up on Nancy Drew also!! And wrote several what I called Susan Benson mysteries when I was twelve that were based on Nancy Drew. I wrote them in longhand on pencil tablets (no computers then). I wish I still had them. It would be fun to see who I was back then.
Thanks for stopping by, Ann, and becoming a follower. I'm betting you were also a fan of Phyllis Whitney and Victoria Holt in the 70's, weren't you? Too bad you don't have those Susan Benson mysteries, I never saved my early things either!
Following you over from Ann's blog because of your Nancy Drew comment, and then I see a picture of Beverley Cleary too! Her books, too, were my favorites. Read them all many times. Did you know the classic Nancy Drews are available on Amazon for about $13 each, published by Applewood Press, who reprints classic literature. The same covers and everything. They're awesome! I read a couple and the *revised* ones just don't compare.
Congratulations, Catherine! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a thrill! I'm honored--thank you so much, Catherine!
ReplyDeleteCatherine, what a lovely surprise! :) Many thanks for this honor!
ReplyDeleteAwk! I'm honored! Um... do I have to make a speech or anything?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rena! It's great to see you here!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, winners, and no speeches, Anne, which is good...I would have passed out ;)
